A casual CSSD Technician / AIN is required at a well-established and dedicated day surgery in Erina, specialising in Ophthalmic Surgery.
Central Coast Day Hospital is part of the PresMed Day Hospital Group. PresMed specialises in the investment, commissioning and management of day hospital facilities in partnership with surgeons, and has established 4 major facilities in Chatswood, Epping, the Central Coast and Hornsby, with more than 130 accredited surgeons associated with the group.
Central Coast Day Hospital (CCDH) is a purpose-built ophthalmic centre of excellence, specialising in all types of eye Surgery. Our Hospital provides customised, state-of-the-art ophthalmic facilities and instrumentation complimented by a team of well-trained clinical and administrative staff who share the vision of an ophthalmic surgical centre of excellence.
Desirable criteria includes a TAFE Certificate in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or working towards attaining this certificate, or ideally some experience or willingness to learn within the CSSD unit.
Duties include setting up and wrapping instrument trays. The technician will be working with a small team of health professionals, and must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills. High sterilisation standards are expected as well as ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Provides assistance with risk management
- Provides assistance with surgical set ups and CSSD duties
- Provide assistance through-out the facility as an “all-rounder”
- Excellent time management in the sterilisation unit in a fast-paced turnover / environment
- Manage stock control and ordering of CSSD supplies
- Ensure a safe work environment, including maintenance of infection control and manual handling requirements
- Ensure facility ordering, putting away stock and housekeeping duties are competed in agreement with the CSSD Supervisor or DON.
